Demo day and market photos
Don't forget, ABF members, you can pick up postcards for the November sale at our tent and do some shopping at the market. I got some beautiful hanging baskets today, one for $10! Plus there is lots of fresh farm produce and B.C. fruit. OMG! don't forget the cupcakes! Here are some older photos including a shot at our last meeting and some pictures I took in May at the market. B-B-Q plans are in the works and it will be in August. I will send an email with the details when they are firm. Can't wait!

City Market 2009
* I know you can't see the faces, that was because every picture was not perfect and besides, not everyone wants their mug on the web. Plus we get up early to be here - no time for beauty regimes! What's a girl to do?Hello Everyone!
This is the first blog update for 2009! ……and my first ‘blog’ ever!
As many of you may already know, a group of us ABF members have been sharing a booth at the downtown City Market since May. So far, it has been a huge success and a wonderful opportunity to inform the public about our group and our upcoming sale in November! The market crowd has been great and very enthusiastic. Not to mention spending the day with fellow ‘flies’ has been a great way to get to know each other better outside of the meetings!
Below is a list of artist’s dates for the remaining 2009 season. We are typically located on the east side of the block north of 102 Avenue on 104 Street. The outdoor market has such a nice atmosphere, and there are a number of fantastic vendors, so please come down and visit us on a Saturday this Summer or Fall!
For info about the market go to: http://www.city-market.ca/
Have a great summer!

Annual Barbeque
The [fantastic ABF] group had a fun time at the annual bbq hosted by Kathy. Thanks Kathy for hosting and making sure no one went home hungry! Also thanks to everyone who brought along a delicious dish and to Julie and Kim [the Kim Fields] for pitching in in Kathy's kitchen! We had a great evening being able to meet and chat with Kim Fields who was teaching the first of a number of classes starting Saturday and some of the new members of the group. As you can see in this photo, we are all about decorum. Er... that is the picture I thought I should post, not the one where we are really showing our true colours. Kim is in the front row behind the huge white lantern on the table. Email me and I will send the photo to any member who wants to see the other picture.Cindy

The dragonfly launches
Hi everyone this is just to let you know that my website is mostly up and going. It is at www.dragonflybeads.ca
There are still a few blanks yet to be filled and I am slowly ironing out the addition of more pictures properly sized etc. It has been a steep learning curve that is for sure. Hope everyone is enjoying the reprieve from the heat. I had to have a towel beside the torch for the last few weeks so the breeze feels great. Off to Edmonton this week to see Walking with the Dinosaurs. Hope it is good.
Take care

New website!!
Hi all - my new web-site is up! As always, a work in progress, but I am really happy with what's there so far. Now I just need to make some more beads - playing with the site has cut into my torch time in a major way! Hope everyone is having a great summer.

Shampoo Glass help....
Good Morning everyone,
So here is the first 'help' post for our little blog. This past weekend I went down to Calgary and went to the Oasis show. The show wasn't nearly as good as last year, but I still managed to find a few good deals. There were alot of glass bead makers there, so it was nice to see everyone's creations.
Anyways after the show I went to check out Tiffany House glass studio. It is a really cute little store that is built in a little Victorian style home on the edge of Kensington. Their glass studio set up was really nice, and the lady that gave me the tour was super friendly. They even have a little lunch room for us hardcore beaders. I recommend checking it out next time you're in Calgary.
Anyways onto the questions. At Tiffany House I purchased some Shampoo Glass, the color is Mother of Pearl. The samples were so pretty, it really did look like mother of pearl. The lady didn't know too much about it accept that it is 104COE and came from Arrow Springs.
Anyone out there use if before? Any tips or tricks too it?
When I googled it I didn't find too much. So ladies, if you know anything about the glass please share. Thank you.
